摘要: The introduction of ASABE Standard D384.2, Manure Production and Characteristics, has created the opportunity to integrate feed management decisions animal performance measures into nutrient planning processes. This paper introduces a software tool that integrates estimates excretion based on new standard with land need, labor equipment time allocation, economic cost benefit for manure application. will be used evaluate implications two scenarios using beef cattle examples as means illustrating first scenario look at impact feeding ethanol co-products economics Labor requirements, access needs all increase significantly greater inclusion rates co-product in diet. However, value additional nutrients is potentially than cost. second explores alternative methods determining application rate (nitrogen vs. phosphorus rate). For situation evaluated, was substantial but increased costs were modest when transitioning from an N-based four year P-based rate. applying supply single substantially requirements well overall costs.
