摘要: OBJECTIVE To analyse the clinical and radiological features of metanephric adenoma (MA, a rare benign renal tumour) in nine patients, to review previous reports. PATIENTS AND METHODS From 1992 2007, we identified patients (eight women one man) with MA at our institution. Four had radical nephrectomy five partial nephrectomy. Preoperative imaging was reviewed by senior radiologist. Renal colour Doppler ultrasonography (US), abdominal computed tomography magnetic resonance were used seven, eight four respectively. RESULTS The mean (range) age 46.8 (19–79) years. Six tumours discovered incidentally. Three symptomatic (two haematuria polycythaemia). There no vascular flow on US within tumours. peripheral and/or central calcifications six All well-circumscribed minimal enhancement after injection non-ionic intravenous contrast or gadolinium. CONCLUSIONS Renal is tumour occurring mainly young middle-aged women. Polycythaemia associated ≈10%. Generally, solid, hypovascular, often calcifications. Based combination features, it might be possible suspect diagnosis propose preoperative diagnostic biopsy, active surveillance.
