摘要: Abstract The 22q11.2 microdeletion (velocardiofacial syndrome, VCFS) results in a complex pattern of psychoeducational and neurocognitive deficits. Mean full-scale IQ scores are the range borderline intellectual function, but academic achievement generally low–normal range. A dichotomy is often found between higher Verbal lower Performance IQ, paralleled by relative strength Reading Spelling, weakness Math. Language skills also typically delayed remain impaired later life, psychiatric disorders can be both children adults with syndrome. On-going research suggests that impairment mathematical ability may associated poor visual–spatial skills. This would consistent theoretical models link arithmetic visual attention spatially referenced representations magnitude. Neuroimaging investigations indicate these all depend critically on inferior parietal lobes, lead to our hypothesis dysfunctional Early reports find no association cognitive syndrome presence cardiac malformations.
