摘要: The Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) study was a National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute multicenter trial that compared the impact of three dietary patterns on blood pressure (BP) among adults with high normal or mild (Stage I) hypertension. DASH's minority representation (two-thirds 459 randomized participants came from populations, 60% cohort were African American) offered valuable opportunity assess factors affecting enrollment retention in clinical trials lifestyle modification. Recruitment strategies included targeted mailings specific groups, mass mailings, community worksite screenings, media advertising; four DASH centers also reimbursed $150 $160. most productive recruitment tended be directed at broad audience weighted toward, but not limited to, participants.
