摘要: BACKGROUND The geriatric population in India is increasing, and so the prevalence of cancer. We aimed to study knowledge, attitude practices end-of-life care issues terminally ill cancer patients our region. METHODS A pilot cross-sectional qualitative using case studies, focus group discussions on providers recipients palliative care, an open-ended, interviewer administered questionnaire specialist doctors practitioners (50), (20) healthy family members (30), was done Lucknow, capital Uttar Pradesh, India. RESULTS Only 14 physicians (28%) could enumerate more than 3 important technical elements care. Two (4%) utilized services but none had received training themselves. explanations counselling provided by were mostly inadequate, incomplete did not fully satisfy their relatives. Of patients, 19 (95%) desired use special unaware such facilities. There only one charitable organization for needy Lucknow. No specific health scheme existed programme Government Pradesh.
