摘要: Antagonistic coevolution between hosts and parasites in spatially structured populations can result local adaptation of parasites. Traditionally parasite has been investigated field transplant experiments or the laboratory under a constant environment. Despite conceptual importance studies (co)evolution, to date no study provided comparative analysis these two methods. Here, using information on pathogen population dynamics, I tested specialist phytopathogen, Podosphaera plantaginis, its host, Plantago lanceolata at three different spatial scales: sympatric host population, metapopulation allopatric metapopulations. The experiment was carried out as with greenhouse-reared plants from origins introduced into four populations. In contrast results an earlier performed same conditions, did not find any evidence for adaptation. For interactions governed by strain-specific resistance, may be sensitive enough detect mean virulence. Given that transmission potential mediated abiotic environment genotype-by-environment interactions, suggest relevant environmental variation should incorporated
