Monoclonal antibodies to the glycoprotein of vesicular stomatitis virus: comparative neutralizing activity.

摘要: Nineteen independently isolated hybridomas producing monoclonal antibodies to the glycoprotein of vesicular stomatitis virus were and studied for their capacity neutralize viral infectivity. By measuring competitive binding 125I-labeled in a radioimmunoassay. 11 different, non-cross-reacting antigenic determinants identified on G protein. All reacting with 1, 2, 3, 4 resulted neutralization, whereas those other seven did not The mixture two different more rapid neutralization than either antibody alone, suggesting that can exert synergistic effect neutralization. Kinetic experiments revealed biphasic curves similar expected heterologous antibody. No evidence could be obtained relate kinetics heterogeneous populations molecules or virus. possible significance kinetic data is discussed.
