摘要: Abstract Previous studies of psychopathological populations and challenged by significant life events have shown that high levels anxiety depression are associated with impaired cellular immunity. However, less is known about the sources psychoimmunological relevance subclinical variations in distress healthy faced typical stress. In present study, we examined relations state to T-cell function vivo cytokine 40 male college freshmen on two occasions. addition, assessed possible contribution dispositional determinants immune-related differences mood. Relative characteristically anxious subjects, subjects who were more (but subclinically anxious) had mood significantly lower lymphocyte proliferative responses mitogen concanavalin A (Con A) as well circulating interleukin-1β. negative attributional styles for bad exhibited reduced Con A-stimulated interleukin-2. Finally, depressed depressed) also blastogenic responses. Individual cortisol β-endorphin not mediate these relationships. The study provides evidence dispositionally related psychiatrically healthy, relatively unstressed males immunological correlates suggest altered macrophage activity.
