摘要: Purpose – This paper was written to put “on record” what, in retrospect, appear the author be most significant aspects of his academic career, one that spans more than half a century.Design/methodology/approach The begins by discussing Wharton School experience (1957‐1964) and then traces how activities experiences at time laid groundwork for number career long themes (academic administration, pedagogy, quasi‐governmental consulting) interests (macromarketing, marketing history).Findings author's and, specifically, contacts with Wroe Alderson David D. Monieson did indeed shape subsequent career.Originality/value calls attention certain events research efforts might otherwise forgotten. It also serves as an example approach others follow preparing their own retrospectives.
