Virus de Epstein-Barr y su relación con el desarrollo del cáncer

摘要: El virus de Epstein-Barr (VEB) es un agente infeccioso que tiene tropismo por celulas linfoides y ocasionalmente epiteliales. La Agencia Internacional para la Investigacion sobre Cancer (IARC, su sigla en ingles) lo clasifico hace 20 anos como carcinogeno tipo I, porque durante infeccion latente expresa diferentes proteinas o micro-ARN con capacidad oncogenica, las infectadas tendrian el potencial desarrollar cancer. Esto se ha demostrado algunos tipos cancer linfomas, carcinoma nasofaringeo y cancer gastrico, mientras asociacion no completamente clara los canceres mama y pulmon. presente revision describe, profundiza analiza relacion del VEB dichos tipos cancer, asi metodos diagnosticos empleados deteccion. Finalmente, se plantean preguntas cuyas respuestas podrian contribuir al conocimiento mecanismos moleculares involucrados VEB-cancer.
