摘要: Flavor is the primary reinforcer of eating. As satiety induced, reinforcement flavor lost. Since derives largely from taste, one might expect gustatory responsiveness to decline with increasing satiety. However, no such loss sensitivity occurs in humans, even as reinforcing value taste declines Thus, we explored effect on responses at several levels macaque's nervous system determine where influence began. Taste-evoked activity NTS and cortex was unaffected by induction through or administration glucose. Taste projects amygdala orbitofrontal (OFC). In amygdala, reduced 58%; OFC, neurons were fully suppressed. Both OFC project hypothalamus, also neural impact food not area devoted quality analysis, but those concerned motivation reinforcement.
