摘要: This is a cross-sectional study to verify the prevalence and associated factors related exclusive breastfeeding in adolescent mothers between 14 16 years of age with 6-month-old or younger babies, born Porto Alegre State Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, 2009. The sample was based on 50% newborn babies from population surveyed. A total 341 were interviewed their homes. variables considered as potential determinants social demographic, pre- post-natal assistance, emotional aspects mother, birth conditions baby characteristics. Prevalence ratios (PR) estimated by Poisson regression means hierarchical analysis. ranged 47.8% first month life up 13.8% after six months declined, average, 24% for each (RP = 0.76; CI95%: 0.68-0.85). Besides baby's age, maternal education (PR=1.53; CII95%: 1.18-1.98) multiple births (PR=1.57; CI95%:1.02-2.46), latter observed only 4.7% sample. Teenage higher schooling live children earlier pregnancies manifested breastfeeding.
