FROM HOME-MADE TO STRATEGY-ENABLING BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE: THE TRANSFORMATIONAL JOURNEY OF A RETAIL ORGANISATION

摘要: The paper examines how a retail organisation transformed from home-made Business Intelligence (BI) to mature BI-based organisation, over decade long period of time. We engaged in an Action Research (AR) inquiry where the transformation was explored through first-hand experiences one co-authors. Concepts organisational learning theory are used analyse and develop in-depth understanding role BI applications this process. Central transformational process champion shadow community that promoted BI-thinking across organisation. As mental models individual members transformed, small-scale innovations, started have impact on human work. Once strategic importance became shared model transformer, impacting strategy as well development BI-enabled driven.
