摘要: SUMMARY.— The undersurface of the epidermis covering tip nipple resembles that found in tactile surfaces; at sides is more shallow, and areola it has an even, honeycombed appearance. These are distinctive structural signatures areas. glabrous largely so. Lactiferous ducts sebaceous apocrine glands open only nipple, mostly grouped toward centre. Glands Montgomery (accessory mammary glands), clusters large glands, a few scattered eccrine sweat some vellus hairs periphery appendages areola. contain numbers melanotic melanocytes among their epithelial cells. Sensory nerve end-organs nipple; there practically none demonstrable or Many nerves loosely wrapped around lactiferous ducts, from sinus to surface. probably afferent fibres convey sensory impulses. Nipples areolae have bountiful framework elastic give these structures rigidity support, anchor smooth muscle fibres, keep sinuses collapsing, attach epidermis. nipples women, men, girls, boys qualitatively identical hut quantitatively very different.
