摘要: Abstract Individuals with spastic cerebral palsy (CP) typically experience muscle weakness. The mechanisms responsible for weakness in CP are complex and may be influenced by the intrinsic mechanical properties of tendon. purpose this study was to investigate medial gastrocnemius (MG) fascicle active torque-length Achilles tendon young adults CP. Nine relatively high functioning (GMFCS I, 17±2 years) 10 developing individuals (18±2 participated study. Active MG were assessed under controlled conditions on a dynamometer. EMG recorded from leg muscles ultrasound used measure length during maximal isometric contractions at five ankle angles throughout available range motion passive rotations imposed Compared group, group had 33% lower plantarflexion torque across joint motion, partially explained 37% smaller 4% greater antagonistic co-contraction. slack also 10% longer group. This confirms mild have altered muscle–tendon properties. adaptation facilitate storage recovery elastic energy compensate decreased force work production small triceps surae activities such as locomotion.
