摘要: Background Atrial fibrillation (AF) is highly prevalent in diabetes mellitus (DM), yet the basis for this finding poorly understood. Type 2 DM may be associated with unique patterns of atrial electrical and structural remodeling; however, has not been investigated detail. Objective The purpose study was to investigate AF susceptibility remodeling type diabetic db/db mice. Methods function were assessed male female mice age-matched wildtype littermates. Electrophysiological studies conducted in vivo using intracardiac electrophysiology programmed stimulation. also isolated preparations high-resolution optical mapping myocytes patch-clamping. Molecular biology performed quantitative polymerase chain reaction western blotting. fibrosis histology. Results susceptible association reduced conduction velocity, action potential duration prolongation, increased heterogeneity repolarization left right atria. In mice, K+ currents, including transient outward current (Ito) ultrarapid delayed rectifier (IKur), reduced. reduction Ito occurred reductions Kcnd2 mRNA expression KV4.2 protein levels. IKur related gene or changes. Interstitial Conclusion Our demonstrates that occurs impaired as well
