摘要: Neurotropism of bluetongue virus (BLU) has been demonstrated in the developing brain fetal ruminants and neonatal mouse models. Two strains BLU serotype 11, UC8 UC2, differentiated by their electrophoretic characteristics abilities to cause lesions bovine fetuses mice were investigated determine differences tissue distribution new born following subcutaneous inoculation. Tissue analysis reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) showed selective both spleen as early 3 h post-inoculation (PI) but viral RNA was not detected blood or other tissues for duration 15 day experiment. UC2 persisted within until 9 PI without development CNS lesions. In contrast, 24 through end infected developed necrotizing throughout cerebrum cerebellum that most severe on days 11 13. Immunohistochemical staining identified cells brains inoculated before inflammatory present gave supportive evidence ability infect cells. Our results show selectively target after inoculation suggest neurovirulence between these are due replicative efficacy host
