摘要: Several environmental factors can differentially regulate monocyte and macrophage response patterns, resulting in the display of distinct functional phenotypes. Galectin-1, an endogenous lectin found at peripheral lymphoid organs inflammatory sites, has shown immunoregulatory activity vivo experimental models autoimmunity cancer. Whereas compelling evidence been accumulated regarding effects galectin-1 on T cell fate, limited information is available how may impact other immune types. In present study, we report a novel role for regulation physiology. Treatment with vitro regulates constitutive inducible FcγRI expression human monocytes FcγRI-dependent phagocytosis. addition, inhibits IFN-γ-induced MHC class II (MHC-II) MHC-II-dependent Ag presentation dose-dependent manner. These regulatory were also evident mouse macrophages recruited to stimuli following treatment recombinant further confirmed galectin-1-deficient mice. Investigation mechanisms involved these functions showed that does not affect survival monocytes, but rather influences FcγRI- through active involving modulation ERK1/2-dependent pathway. Our results provide unrecognized control monocyte/macrophage physiology potential implications crossroad innate adaptive immunity.
