摘要: White children show marked ingroup race preferences and a relative devaluation of Black people. The origin these early interracial attitudes is to large extent still unclear. studies here test the possibility that preschool-aged are particularly sensitive nonverbal behaviors performed by adults during interactions. In Study 1, were shown video displaying an interaction between adult. Across conditions, adult's verbal either friendly or neutral, whereas his showed easiness (e.g., closeness, high eye contact) uneasiness distance, avoidance contact). Results revealed participants shaped their toward target accordingly, independently from adults' behaviors. 2 replicated basic findings demonstrated observed effects generalized other targets. discussed in relation current approaches understanding formation racial among children.
