摘要: Light microscopy analyses of microfilariae Wuchereria bancrofti treated with DEC revealed a striking loss the microfilarial sheath. However, no effect was observed on Litomosoides chagasfilhoi DEC. For quantitative W. were processed for SEM. Controls, which have not received DEC, had 29.8% exsheathed microfilariae. Conversely, number increased as concentrations: 5 μg/ml (75.9%), 10 (80.1%), and 50 (87.7%). After treatment some sheathed showed wrinkled surface, in microfilariae, sheaths being liberated almost intact from larvae surface. But, frequently residues lost sheath over surface also observed. No damage cuticle. The present work shows data after Since L. submitted to same conditions, may different mechanisms action distinct filarial species.
