Juggling family and career: parents’ pathways to a balanced and happy life

摘要: Welcoming a child into the family is often met with new challenges to balance demands of parents’ careers needs their families. Parents may be confronted seemingly endless tasks associated caring for – arranging childcare, preparing meals, and sleepless nights in early years. Without any adjustments demanding work schedules meetings, project deadlines, concerns about maintaining productivity parents feel overwhelmed sheer number unavoidable daily tasks. Perhaps not surprisingly, more than half workers report difficulties balancing responsibilities (Parker Wang, 2013), frequently experience fatigue being ‘on call’ 24/7 (Feldman Nash, 1984). Despite these stresses, however, we suggest that both provide unique benefits, and, when can maximize benefits minimize they will achieve work–life wellbeing.
