摘要: The dispersal of non-native genes due to hybridization is a form cryptic invasion with growing concern in evolution and conservation. This includes the spread transgenic antibiotic resistance. To investigate how phenotypes are transmitted, we developed general model that, for first time, considers concurrently: multiple loci, quantitative qualitative gene expression, assortative mating, dominance/recessivity inheritance density-dependent demographic effects. Selection acting on alleles or genotypes can also be incorporated. Our results reveal that conclusions about threatens species biased if they based single-gene models, while considering two more correct this bias. We show demography amplify balance genetic effects, evidencing need jointly incorporating both processes. By implementing our real case, mallard ducks introduced New Zealand benefit from replace native grey-ducks. Total displacement take few generations occurs by interspecific competition between hybrids natives, demonstrating may facilitate biological invasions. argue represents powerful tool study wide range societal questions.
