摘要: Abstract This study examined the effects of partial hepatectony on hepatic carnitine and acylcarnitine concentrations in fed or 24 h-starved partially hepatectonized (PH) sham-operated (SO) rats at 1 4 days after surgery. The ratio free to esterified was low PH day : increased SO value when mitochondrial fat oxidation inhibited by 2-tetradecylglycidate. Starvation (24 h) plasma [non-esterified fatty acid] rats, increases being greater than 4. Hepatic [long-chain acylcarnitine] were also increased. These latter a consequence since they not observed treated with Whereas starvation-induced increase long-chain associated [ketone body] livers both surgery, inappropriately for steady-state [acylcarnitine] first post-operative day. decrease [total carnitine] liver. results are discussed reference role liver determining relative proportions fuels available extrahepatic tissues cell proliferation triacylclycerol metabolism.
