摘要: Abstract Ethnopharmacological relevance Porcupine bezoar (PB) is used as folk medicine for various medical conditions including cancer treatment in Malaysia. However, its toxicity profile has never been thoroughly ascertained to confirm safe nature an efficacious traditional the of well other ailments. Aim study This was aimed reveal three different PBs’ aqueous extracts(viz. PB-A, PB-B, PB-C) chemical constituent’s using GC-MS analysis, anticancer property on A375, HeLa and MCF7 cells, zebrafish embryo morphology, EC50, LC50 teratogenicity index. Materials methods extracts characterization performed through vitro effect carried out cell lines finally properties PBs (viz. were determined model. Results The analysis revealed 10 similar compounds all extracts. Dilauryl thiodipropionate found be a major compound followed by tetradecanoic acid. An PB exerted median inhibition concentration (IC50) 1.0 teratogenic Conclusions findings that possessed activity exhibited significant toxicological effects embryos with high Hence, use agent requires further investigation attentions determine dose.
