摘要: In this study, a multi-pathogens survey was conducted to verify the sanitary status of two Italian wolf packs Majella National Park. Twenty fecal samples (10/pack) were collected using sampling protocol, based on combining data from radio-collared wolves with geographic information system (GIS) analysis, allowing mark off home range and recover group-specific high-quality specimens. Virological screening against most prevalent canine viruses (protoparvovirus, distemper virus, adenoviruses, coronaviruses) carried out by molecular methods, while parasites detected means copromicroscopic analysis. Canine parvovirus type 2b (CPV-2b) is virus in both (7/20), followed adenovirus 2 (CAdV-2), no sequences coronaviruses detected. The sequence analysis demonstrated domestic origin infection, highlighting importance vaccination local dogs order reduce risk exposure wildlife these pathogens. Fourteen resulted positive for parasites. Capillaria aerophila (sin. Eucoleus aerophilus), Ancylostoma/Uncinaria, Trichuris vulpis eggs, Sarcocystis spp., Cystoisospora canis, Angiostrongylus vasorum larvae identified. Echinococcus granulosus sensu stricto (ovine genotype G1) Giardia duodenalis(canid-specific Assemblage C) also characterized, providing insights into wolves’ diet their effects environmental contamination. protocol applied multidisciplinary approach, represents an innovative tool Apennine wolf, able integrate ecological demographic features population.
