摘要: The plastic phenotype of aggressive melanoma has presented a significant challenge in the detection and targeting tumor cells exhibiting stem cell-like characteristics. As molecular signaling pathways underlying cell plasticity become more transparent, our understanding how to suppress this elusive will be enhanced. Indeed, we are making progress identifying critical embryonic pathways, such as Nodal pathway, that reemerge – absence regulatory check points. Because is not expressed by majority normal adult tissues, over-expressed cells, it represents valuable new therapeutic target. Collectively, have learned great deal from studies focus attention on convergence tumorigenic pathways. At interaction development formation reside clues suppressing cancer progression.
