摘要: A lens system for a periodic light-beam waveguide is proposed and analyzed in which gas enclosed circular cylinder heated with cos 2φ temperature distribution. We show that this distribution may be produced by cutting cylindrical hole the center of square block has two opposite sides equal above ambient temperature, lower temperature. Heat conduction across produces an index refraction variation which, orthogonal azimuthal planes, increases or decreases as radius squared. The effect thermal convection solving governing equations expansion powers Rayleigh number; solution reveals effects can made negligible over practical range parameters. major attributes are only controls required aberrations associated readily minimized.
