摘要: Abstract Background Children's pain is frequently underrecognized and undertreated. This study focuses exclusively on children's perspectives of satisfaction with their management in the emergency department (ED). Objectives Specific objectives were to 1) describe ED treatment experienced by children, 2) measure child's treatment, 3) determine factors associated satisfaction. Methods prospective, descriptive survey examined a convenience sample 100 aged 7–17 years, who treated for pediatric Canadian hospital. We measured scores, overall management, perceptions health care provider communication. Results Of children studied, 53 male, mean age was 12.6 years. The maximum score reported as 79 mm (95% confidence interval [CI] 75–82) at discharge 34 CI 29–39), using 100-mm modified visual analog scale. majority (92%) satisfied; three (3%) very unhappy four (4%) treatment. Satisfaction correlated resolution (p = 0.018), effective child–provider communication (p = 0.045), perception that medicine worked quickly (p = 0.034). Conclusions Despite continued upon discharge, most satisfied management. However, it important physicians not interpret patient equivalent adequate provision analgesia. relationship between self-reported needs be further explored.
