摘要: Author(s): Baker, Ann Eileen Miller | Abstract: Stowaway transport rates were obtained from behavioral observations of 14 house mice (Mus domesticus) and deermice (Peromyscus maniculatus) during commercial transport. One mouse escaped unloading flaking 2,500 kg 2-year old oat hay. Three two handcaught on trucks 51,110 transported barley straw grass was after being buried alive in grain. Two a semitruck holding dog food. House (one live, six recently-dead) (two taken feedmill screen over which had passed 940,313 Ten trapped pickup truck cab. In conclusion, multiplying these rates, (7(10-5) per hay 7(10-6) grain, by the worldwide volume grain implies thousands stowaway occur. Deermice have comparable rates. Experiments (N = 82) done to determine if particular sex or age predominates among stowaways. For each experiment, I put one five hand-caught haybale, let them remain haybale for 1 13 days, wheelbarrow, pushed wheelbarrow I5 minutes, then searched mice. Stowaways, remaining transport, included 74 115 (64%), primarily lower weight classes, characterizing coming into reproduction. live stowaways should arrive g50% infested loads.
