摘要: Abstract Alzheimer's disease is a multifactorial disorder characterized by extracellular accumulation of amyloid-β (Aβ) and intracellular accumulations neurofibrillary tangles. Numerous drug targets have been explored for therapeutic efficacy but failed to deliver successful treatments clinically. However, over the years our understanding pathophysiology increased significantly. Many novel which can cure or modify pathology are being preclinically as well On contrarily, discovery development process lengthy cost involved makes it difficult faster translation outcomes. Therefore, repurposing existing drugs new indication considered better approach helps in fast information. The well-proven records on their safety, pharmacokinetics, etc. In recent years, beta (β)-lactam antibiotics repurposed management neurodegenerative pathologies. Here current review, we β-lactam antibiotics, target sites, molecular mechanisms, potential disease.
