摘要: Abstract Introduction The few population-based studies that investigate the association between cannabis use and adiposity are inconclusive possibly because nicotine moderates effect of on adiposity. objective was to test hypotheses in young men women is modified by cigarette smoking. Methods Data were drawn from Nicotine Dependence Teens (NDIT) study, a 13-year prospective cohort investigation natural course dependence. A total 271 males 319 females aged 12–13 years at inception provided data past-year number cigarettes smoked per day past three months, age 20 years. Outcomes included change body mass index (BMI) waist circumference (WC) ages 17 24 years. hypothesis tested multiple linear regression models interaction terms for smoking controlled physical activity, sedentary behavior, alcohol use, level outcome baseline. Results U-shaped male non-smokers females, an inverted U-shape smokers. In males, significant both BMI (p = 0.004; n = 271) WC (p = 0.04; n = 250). not significant. Conclusion Smoking appears modify men.
