摘要: Targets for Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) experiments to measure isoelectronic temperatures achieved in open configurations have been manufactured from low density polymethylpentene. The temperature measurements are made by ratioing the intensity of two nearby X-ray lines, this case titanium and chromium. This required these metals be added foams during manufacture. Individual targets consisted machined cylinders foam 2 mm diameter long. Because small scale variability foam, it was necessary individually characterize each target metal content determine total mass plastic present allow a correct calculation made. requested less than 5 mg/cm3 loading 0.5 wt.% means roughly 10 μg 50 ng. level material detected application modification fluorescence beta particle transmission methods foams.
