摘要: Low-density polymer foams have been an integral part of targets used in inertial confinement fusion (ICF) experiments. Target designs are unique the ICF program, and made on individual basis. Costs for these high due to time required machine, assemble, characterize each target. To produce volume at low cost, a system is that amenable scale up. High internal phase emulsion (HIPE) polystyrene robust offers great flexibility terms tailoring density incorporating metal dopants. Emulsions fabricate HIPE currently batch process. With use metering pumps both water oil phases, emulsions can be produced continuous This not only makes potential candidates direct-drive capsules, but high-Z dopants metered making attractive hohlraum components indirect-drive systems. Preparation discussed
