摘要: Meconium aspiration syndrome can present clinically with different degrees of severity, ranging from a mild form respiratory compromise to severe forms that may result in perinatal death despite mechanical ventilation or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. However, advances our knowledge concerning meconium have revealed most cases are not fact causally related the but rather caused by other pathologic processes occurring utero, primarily chronic asphyxia and infection. Proper understanding causative underlying fetal neonatal these is essential direct future research into preventive therapeutic treatments for counseling parents an affected child.
