摘要: The POU domain (pronounced 'pow') is a highly charged 155-162-amino-acid (aa) region of sequence similarity contained within three mammalian transcription factors. Pt-1 (ref. 2), Oct-1 3) and Oct-2 4), the product nematode gene unc-86 5) which involved in determining neural cell lineage. This consists two subdomains, C-terminal homoeo an N-terminal POU-specific separated by short nonconserved linker; relationship shows that domains form distinct POU-related family. In ubiquitous lymphoid-specific octamer-motif binding proteins Oct-2, sufficient for sequence-specific DNA binding. Homoeobox contain helix-turn-helix DNA-binding motif, first identified bacterial repressors. important and, other classes homoeo-containing proteins, entire binding; thus new could be functions such as protein-protein interactions. Nevertheless, we show here fact novel bipartite structure regions subdomains are both required but held together flexible linker.
