摘要: The occurrence of alternative structures for the lithium, sodium, and potassium salts poly(dG-dC) was determined as a function hydration using IR spectra nonoriented gels. Poly(dG-dC).K with added KCl (r = 0.56 where r is moles per mole nucleotide residue) gave results essentially identical to much studied poly(dG-dC).Na NaCl 0.56). Both sharp transition from unique B structure (hereafter designated B*) Z upon dehydration. Poly(dG-dC).Li LiCl 0.36) assumed B* at high but made broad C lowered. We believe this first clear evidence poly(dG-dC). No other (A, D, or Z) were observed any in Poly(dG-dC).Na ZnCl2 0.2) existed mixture maximally hydrated A broad, incomplete higher fraction occurred Zn2+ promotes appears bind guanine residues. MgCl2 CaCl2 normal maximum no hint structure. Slight dehydration produced very Mg2+ Ca2+ are strong promoters do not cytosine
