摘要: This report describes the development of a computer model designed to simulate cooling behavior hot paving material after laying. The accuracy is examined by comparing experimentally determined curves materials laid under variety ambient conditions at five test sites, with predicted for these same sites. comparison shows good agreement between experimental and curves. rates heat loss through surfaces bases hot-mix layers are using effect on heated supporting layers, increased layer thicknesses, variations in climatic studied. Simulation results show that initially larger rate from bottom but increasing time laying surface becomes dominant. Heating cold substrate reduces significantly layer. Increasing lift thickness marginally increases overall because thicker lifts lose smaller proportion their initial content they maintain higher temperature longer periods than thinner lifts. Differences mid-layer extremes climate considered order 1 C per minute 30 mm thick layer, reducing 0.5 100 /thick layers. /Author/TRRL/
