A study of consumers' perceptions and prediction of consumption patterns for generic health functional foods.

摘要: The Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) revised the Health Functional Act in 2008 extended form of health functional foods to general food types. Therefore, this study was performed investigate consumers’ perceptions expanded predict consumption patterns. For study, 1,006 male female adults aged 19 years older were selected nationwide by multi-stage stratified random sampling surveyed 1:1 interviews. questionnaire survey conducted Gallup. subjects consisted 497 (49.4%) males 509 (50.6%) females. About 57.9% recognized KFDA's permission procedures for foods. Regarding that had consumed, red ginseng products highest (45.3%), followed nutritional supplements (34.9%), (27.9%), lactobacillus-containing (21.0%), aloe (20.3%), Japanese apricot extract (18.4%). Opinions on expanding types scored 4.7 points a 7-point scale, showing positive responses. In terms effects medicine-type versus generic foods, response ‘same if same ingredients are contained’ at rate 34.7%. intake frequency type, ‘daily consistent intake’ 31.7% capsules, tablets, pills, 21.7% extracts. types, 44.5% rice 22.8% beverages, which higher rates than those medicine From above results, consumers opinions expansion forms but not expected maintain accurate frequencies or amounts.
