摘要: To better understand acquired immunity to respiratory-syncytial-virus infections, we analyzed data from a 10-year study of respiratory illness in normal children who were followed longitudinally early infancy. Immunity was measured terms failure become infected or reduction severity clinical upon reinfection. Outbreaks infections occurred seven times over the 10-year-period. During epidemics attack rate for first infection 98 per cent. The second (75 cent) modestly reduced (P less than 0.001); that third 65 Age and history both influenced illness. induced by single had no demonstrable effect on associated with reinfection one year later; however, considerable infection. These observations suggest amelioration illness--rather prevention infection--may be realistic goal immunoprophylaxis.
