摘要: Broad-range 16S ribosomal RNA gene PCR coupled with Sanger sequencing was originally employed by soil scientists and subsequently adapted for clinical applications. electrospray ionization mass spectrometry has also progressed from initial applications in the detection of organisms environmental samples into realm demonstrated promise pathogens specimens obtained patients suspected infection but negative cultures. We review studies multiplex PCR, bacteria that were during or after administration antibiotic treatment, examine role each assisting antimicrobial treatment stewardship efforts. Following an exploration available data this field, we discuss opportunities preliminary investigations reveal, as well challenges faced implementation these strategies practice.
