摘要: Tetrazolium salts (TTZ), such as tetrazolium violet (TV), have been widely used for microbiological studies. The formation of the colored formazan product due to bacterial reduction uncolored reagent is extensively exploited stain cells or colonies in agar on filters. But an important toxic effect bacteria exists that limits their use at high concentrations, impairing efficient staining colonies. This especially case Salmonella spp. where we observed, using a classic photometric approach and mathematical modeling growth, impact apparent growth rate below inhibitory concentration. In this study, demonstrate adding magnesium medium presence TV leads significant increase rate. Moreover, when higher concentrations are which lead total inhibition strains, addition culture media allows reduction. may allow TTZ liquid enhance detection capabilities.
