Seed dynamics of Betula alleghaniensis in a deciduous forest of north-eastern North America.

摘要: Seed dynamics of Betula alleghaniensis (yellow birch) were studied in a sugar-maple-yellow-birch forest near Quebec, Canada. The seed rain was censured regularly during 1988 and 1989, the soil bank sampled at various times season. Seedlings 1989 cohorts also surveyed. Dispersion patterns seeds bank, newly emerged seedlings, contrasted. No viable shed before end August 1988, although by then cumulative totalled 222±103 m −2 (mean±1 S.E.) (...)
