摘要: In Parkinson's disease (PD), sudden unexpected sleep episodes and excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) while driving engaging in social activities are important problems. We conducted a multi-center study to clarify the prevalence contributing factor of EDS Japanese patients with PD. evaluated 188 PD (85 men, 103 women) 144 age-matched controls for sleepiness. was defined as an Epworth scale (ESS) score >or=10. ESS significantly higher (6.6+/-4.2 vs. 5.6+/-3.8) than (6.4% 0.7%). were more likely have (22.5% 2.0%), severity depressive symptoms, on dose dopaminergic agents those without EDS. However, there no differences nocturnal disturbances between two groups. not different taking ergot non-ergot dopamine agonists. Logistic regression analysis demonstrated that mental state, total agents, significant predictors episodes. >or=10 had 75% sensitivity 82.4% specificity These results suggest is dependent itself treatment rather disturbances.
