摘要: 1. 1. Serine hydroxymethyltransferase (SHMT) was studied in several American Trypanosoma cruzi epimastigotes displaying, contrast with T. rangeli, high enzymatic activity. 2. 2. Several Leishmania spp. members, including L. braziliensis, mexicana and garnhami promastigotes, under identical assay conditions, showed low activity. 3. 3. The leishmanial enzymes presented different kinetic properties, thus apparent Km for THF 0.30 mM the trypanosomal SHMT vs 0.60 enzyme, while serine 0.40 0.15 enzyme. 4. 4. There were significant variations specific activity of between trypanosomatids strains studied, but meaning these results is not clear because they no correlation either taxonomy or infectivity.
