摘要: The utilization by Serratia marcescens of heme bound to hemoglobin requires HasA, an extracellular heme-binding protein. This unique acquisition system was studied in Escherichia coli hemA mutant that a auxotroph. We identified 92-kDa iron-regulated S. outer membrane protein, HasR, which alone enabled the E. grow on or as porphyrin source. concomitant secretion HasA HasR-producing greatly facilitates from hemoglobin. is first report synergy between protein and acting carrier, we termed hemophore.
