摘要: Background In Australia the most frequently employed hemiarthroplasty prosthesis for management of displaced intracapsular femoral neck fractures is Uncemented Austin Moore (UAM). Despite concerns regarding poor functional outcomes and increased early revision rates associated with UAM prosthesis, apprehension systemic side effects polymethylmethacrylate cement implantation in elderly patient continues to influence selection. This study examines incidence related complications after Cemented Thompson (CT) procedures fractures. Methods A multicentre retrospective review charts radiographs was conducted order determine prosthetic CT prostheses over a 6 year period five Queensland public hospitals. Results Intraoperative periprosthetic were sustained 11.8% 1.8% implantations (p<0.0001). an requirement reoperation within 1 month index procedure (p=0.05). No statistical difference intraoperative could be observed between hospitals participating, regardless proportional use each prosthesis. Early dislocation similar prostheses. The mortality rate attributable during hip 1/ 738 (0.14%). Conclusions results this support reduce high requirements experienced UAM.
