摘要: CT and MR scans of 29 immunocompromised patients (28 with AIDS or ARC, one diabetes mellitus) who had documented intracranial cryptococcal infection were reviewed retrospectively. All studies; 26 received iodinated contrast agent. findings included normal results in nine 29, atrophy only 13 nonenhancing lesions three enhancing two 20, foci leptomeningeal calcification 29. Ten both studies, four gadopentetate dimeglumine. Among these 10 patients, five studies showed moderate central atrophy. 10, however, abnormal findings. We observed patterns: (1) parenchymal cryptococcoma (3/10); (2) numerous clustered tiny that hyperintense on T2-weighted images non-enhancing postcontrast T1-weighted images, located relatively symmetrically the basal ganglia bilaterally midbrain, representing dilated Virchow-Robin spaces (4/10); (3) multiple miliary nodules (1/10); (4) a mixed pattern, consisting such as (2/10). In group six (patterns 2 4), dimeglumine, but space did not enhance; among remaining dimeglumine (one pattern 1 3) enhance. Three our study subsequently died autopsies performed. The postmortem revealed filled fungi ganglia, which correlated well findings.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
