摘要: A detailed study was made of the changes in carbohydrate metabolism ofSchistosoma mansoni occurring during both penetration skin a hamster and subsequent development schistosome lung, liver, mesenteric veins host. During infection, within few hours transition occurs from fully aerobic to largely anaerobic energy metabolism. By 5 h postinfection, about 6% breakdown reactions Krebs cycle, whereas rest formation lactate. The contribution processes remains at this level until 3 weeks postinfection then gradually declines adult 2.5%.
