摘要: Distal sesamoidean ligament injury is a recognized cause of lameness but diagnosis using ultrasonography sometimes difficult. Herein, we describe the normal appearance distal ligaments on magnetic resonance (MR) images and changes that occur when are injured. The MR from 66 control horses 58 with desmitis were described cross-sectional area signal intensity measured. In horses, had characteristic strong left–right symmetry, lateral oblique was larger higher than medial ligament. Cross-sectional significantly greater in injured straight compared controls. Signal increased Lesions considered sole only 2 horses. Eighty percent lesions not detected ultrasonography.
