摘要: Abstract The effect of microwave radiation on the magnetic properties pyrite was investigated. source a conventional multimodal reactor, with frequency 2.45 GHz and maximum power 1900 W. After treatment at 1900 W for 120 s, recovery in fraction after separation increased from 8% (wet) 25% (dry) to greater than 80% both process streams. improvement has been attributed altering surface mineral, inducing formation new, more magnetic, phases. An increase magnetisation sample also noted, determined using vibrating magnetometer (VSM). exposure radiation, mineral by an order magnitude. Microwave enhancement weakly minerals could aid their removal non-magnetic such as galena sphalerite, before other techniques are implemented, flotation, where gangue act like valuable ones. It is proposed that VSM be used characterise minerals. Using this knowledge, efficient processing flowsheets can developed.
